By late Sunday, Gulf moisture will begin creeping back into the region, bringing a slight chance for a few scattered showers or thunderstorms, mainly west of I-55. Most areas, however, should remain dry through the weekend.
Rain and storm chances will increase early next week as a more unsettled pattern develops across the South. More widespread showers and thunderstorms are possible by midweek, and a few stronger storms cannot be ruled out. Forecast details will become clearer over the next several days.
