Quiet Weather Returns After Overnight Storm Damage Across the Area

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) -After last night’s storm systems caused widespread damage across the area, we are thankfully expecting much quieter weather for the rest of the week and into the weekend. Our hearts and prayers go out to all of the communities impacted. If you would like to share your story, photos, or damage reports with us, please do not be afraid to reach out.

Storm chances will continue to diminish through the morning as the system moves out of the area. Behind the storms, today will feel noticeably cooler and breezy with afternoon highs only reaching the upper 60s to lower 70s.

Clouds will linger into Friday with gradual clearing expected later in the day. Temperatures will remain comfortable in the 70s to close out the work week.

Heading into the weekend, warmer air makes a return with highs climbing back into the middle 80s. We will also see another chance for scattered showers and a few thunderstorms, but it does not look like a washout at this time. If you have outdoor plans, it would still be a good idea to keep a backup plan ready just in case a few storms develop nearby.
