GREENVILLE, Miss. (WLBT) – A Greenville woman is facing a murder charge in connection with a deadly shooting Sunday.

According to Greenville Police Department officials, officers responded to reports of a shooting located at an apartment complex on North Broadway Street on Aug. 9.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found an unresponsive male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest.

Despite lifesaving efforts from officers and Pafford Ambulance Service paramedics, the victim – identified as Kaderrien Dorsey – was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Over the course of the investigation, GPD identified a suspect in connection with the shooting.

The suspect, identified as Samantha Rape, was arrested and is currently facing a charge on one count of murder.

Rape is now being held at the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility and awaiting her initial appearance in court.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.
