VICKSBURG, Miss. (WLBT) – Former Vicksburg Police Chief Penny Jones was honored during a retirement celebration Tuesday.

She was recognized for her more than 26 years of service with the Vicksburg Police Department and her role as the city’s first female police chief.

Family members, current and former law enforcement officers, city officials and others gathered at the police department to recognize her career and service to the city.

Jones was chief from 2021 through August 2025.
