BRANDON, Miss. (WLBT) – The Brandon High School football program was placed on probation and fined ahead of the upcoming season.

MHSAA Executive Director Rickey Neaves confirmed the incident on Wednesday.

Brandon was placed on a one-year probation and was fined for practicing in pads too early in preseason.

According to Brandon Athletics, the incident was self-reported.

Neaves said the probation will not affect their upcoming season. However, if the program is fined and placed on probation again next year, it will affect Brandon’s season.

The Bulldogs are entering the year under first-year head coach Eugene Clinton.
