JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – The Jackson Police Department is investigating after a woman was ‘literally beaten to death’ at a Jackson hotel.

JPD said the incident happened on Tuesday around 10:17 p.m. in a hotel in the 500 block of Beasley Road.

When detectives arrived, they learned the victim, 21-year-old Jessenia Cruz, had been physically assaulted.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect in this case, Joshua Malik Boothe, 24, was arrested by JPD Thursday, shortly before 3:00 p.m.
