GLUCKSTADT, Miss. (WLBT) – A woman who was going the wrong way on the interstate, hitting another vehicle in the process, will be charged with drunk driving.

According to the Gluckstadt Police Department, the woman was going south in the northbound lane of traffic Thursday on I-55 near the 114 mile marker.

While going the wrong way, the woman, Thadiesha Funchess, hit another vehicle in the Canton city limits.

Authorities were eventually able to get the vehicle stopped and Funchess made it back to the correct side of the interstate.

After making contact with her, police determined that she appeared intoxicated.

She was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

When discharged, Funchess will be charged with DUI first offense, careless driving, and no vehicle insurance.
