JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Hot and muggy? You’re kidding!!
Sadly, I am not. More of the same as we head into the first day of August with highs in the upper 90s, mostly sunny skies, and dangerous heat stress. It could feel as hot as 115 degrees for some of you during our peak heating hours. Teeny-tiny chances for rain are still in our forecast today, but I have your First Alert to a dry start to the new month.
Measurable rain looks to stay far away from us over the next 7 days, and that means we will stay HOT. Highs will not stray far from the upper 90s while heat indices stay in the triple digits. There are some indications we could see better rain coverage at the very end of our 10-day forecast, but we will monitor that and bring you the First Alert if it looks to pan out when we get a little closer.
