UMS-Wright announces next head football coach
MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – UMS-Wright announced their next head football coach following the retirement of long-time coach Terry Curtis.
The school said Sam Williams will take over the Bulldogs program which has the third most wins this century and the third-most state championships in the state (9).
Williams has been successful in a short time as a head coach in the state of Mississippi, going 82-24 in eight seasons and winning six district titles.
He began his career at Pelahatchie High School before spending one year at Ridgeland High School.
His last four seasons have been at Brandon High School where he has gone 45-10 overall, 23-1 in district play and three state runner-ups.
His 2024 team set a school record in scoring with 547 points.
UMS-Wright said a formal press conference will be held next week.
