Sarah Sanders: ‘It’s clear’ Trump will win reelection, Biden a ‘weak candidate’

Former White House press secretary Sarah Sanders responded Tuesday to comments by the campaign manager for Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg, who said that President Trump is “winning” the 2020 presidential election.

“I never thought I would say this, Sean, but I finally think that one of the Democrats has figured it out,” Sanders said on “Hannity.”. “Donald Trump is winning and all of America is winning. And that’s why his numbers continue to go up. It’s just amazing to see that somebody from their side is actually admitting it and talking about it publicly.”

MICHAEL BLOOMBERG OFFICIALLY ENTERS 2020 DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY RACE

“Right now, Donald Trump is winning. He is winning that election,” Kevin Sheekey told CNN’s “At This Hour with Kate Bolduan. “It’s very tough for people who don’t live in New York or California to understand that, but that is what’s happening.”

Sanders said Trump was doing so well that he could win in a “landslide.”

“And I think if those numbers stay, hold where they are, even as a baseline, it’s not just game over but it is a landslide victory for this president,” Sanders added.

The former White House official also said Democrats are desperate to find a formidable candidate, responding to a question about former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick who also jumped into the Democrats field.

“I think they’re desperately trying to find somebody who can actually run a real campaign,” Sanders said. “So far everything we’ve seen out of the Democrat field does nothing but make every Republican in this country extremely happy because it’s clear that Donald Trump is going to win reelection.”

Sanders also blasted Democratic presidential frontrunner Joe Biden, calling him a “weak candidate.”

“Anybody who has painfully sat and watched each of these Democrat debates knows that Joe Biden is an incredibly weak candidate and he’s their front runner,” Sanders said. “He’s tied up in corruption, scandal after scandal, and he’s still considered the front runner.”

Dana Perino: Obama ‘has one opportunity to be a kingmaker’

“The Daily Briefing” host Dana Perino appeared on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Tuesday and warned former President Barack Obama that he has one shot to be a “kingmaker.”

Obama “has one opportunity to be a kingmaker, right, at the convention or a peacemaker if there’s a contested convention. Only one opportunity,” Perino told Carlson. “If he blows it now, it’s a little bit too early.”

OBAMA TAKES VEILED SHOT AT WARREN AND SANDERS, WARNS 2020 DEMS AMERICANS DON’T WANT TO ‘TEAR DOWN THE SYSTEM’

Perino was responding to a report from Politico saying Obama recalled to one candidate who came to him for advice how he himself had a bond with the voters that has since faded. He reportedly added: “And you know who really doesn’t have it? Joe Biden.”

Earlier this month, a CNN/Des Moines Register/Mediacom poll showed former Soth Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg leading the field in Iowa with 25 percent support, a 16 percent increase over his numbers in the September version of the poll. Behind Elizabeth Warren (16 percent) came former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., who each garnered 15 percent support.

The former White House press secretary said it’s “pretty clear that Biden doesn’t have what it takes in Iowa,” adding that the Democratic Party is divided into factions.

“They can’t pull the coalition together from older people to younger people to African-Americans and Hispanics, white liberals, academics, climate change people,” Perino said. “They have all these different factions. And that’s because they have created them”

“And there’s no one right now who can pull them all together,” Perino added, saying Obama is the only person that can try. “The only person who thinks that they could do that is a person who won nationally twice, Barack Obama.”

Jesse Watters rips Biden’s chances of beating Trump: ‘It’s never gonna happen’

Jesse Watters ripped former Vice President Joe Biden‘s chances of beating President Trump in the 2020 general election, saying on Tuesday that “it’s never gonna happen.”

“Biden doesn’t have it. We don’t need a poll to tell me Biden doesn’t have it. Just look at him on television,” Watters said on “The Five.”

“There’s no Biden base. There’s no Biden mantra. There’s no Biden slogan. There’s no Biden movement. There’s nothing,” he continued. “So I don’t know why people have to look at these polls and worry about Joe Biden beating Donald Trump. It’s never gonna happen.”

OBAMA TAKES VEILED SHOT AT WARREN AND SANDERS, WARNS 2020 DEMS AMERICANS DON’T WANT TO ‘TEAR DOWN THE SYSTEM’

“And even the guy that picked him to be V.P. and spent eight years with him knows it’s never gonna happen,” Watters added.

Watters was reacting to a Politico report that addressed former President Obama‘s relationship with Biden, whom he has not yet endorsed, despite Biden serving as vice president in his administration — and routinely touting their relationship on the stump.

The Politico piece said Obama recalled to one candidate who came to him for advice how he himself had a bond with the voters that has since faded. Obama reportedly added, “And you know who really doesn’t have it? Joe Biden.”

Biden says he never sought Obama’s endorsement.

“The Five” co-host Juan Williams said he doubted Obama said the comments reported by Politico, but co-host Dana Perino disagreed.

“I think that all of the signals are that there are worries from Obama that Biden will not be able to win the presidency even if he gets the nomination,” Perino said. “If Biden was running away with this thing we would all know it, it would be obvious.”

Watters also took the time to rip Michael Bloomberg, the latest Democrat to join the field.

“The only person more overrated than Biden is Bloomberg,” Watters said. “So what if he has money? He’s not going to win one single state. All the advertising that he’s going to drop on Trump is going to backfire. It’s going to over saturate all the markets.”

Melania Trump cheered and jeered by Baltimore students during speech

Melania Trump received a “mixed reception” Tuesday at a Baltimore youth event meant to raise awareness of opioid abuse, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Trump was both cheered and booed by the crowd of middle school and high school students after she was introduced by Jim Wahlberg, the brother of actor Mark Wahlberg, at the B’More Youth Summit on Opioid Awareness. The Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation partially sponsored the event.

Wahlberg tried to settle the crowd by asking: “If you have lost somebody you love or somebody who you cared about to an overdose, please stand up.”

However, the Associated Press reported the audience remained noisy throughout the first lady’s five-minute address. At one point, Mrs. Trump interrupted her remarks to say, “Hello, everyone,” before continuing.

TRUMP SAYS BERNIE SANDERS SHOULD ALSO BE LABELED ‘RACIST’ FOR CALLING BALTIMORE A ‘THIRD WORLD COUNTRY’

“Your future will be determined by the choices you make,” the first lady told the crowd. “Using drugs will only slow you down.”

“I hope that the knowledge you gain here will help you tackle the tough decisions you may face so that you can lead healthy and drug-free lives,” Trump added.

In a statement released later Tuesday, the first lady said: “We live in a democracy and everyone is entitled to their opinion, but the fact is we have a serious crisis in our country and I remain committed to educating children on the dangers and deadly consequences of drug abuse.”

The cool reception follows a clash earlier this year between late Maryland U.S.Rep. Elijah Cummings and President Trump, who criticized the Democrat’s district as a “rodent-infested mess” where “no human being would want to live.” Cummings replied that government officials must stop making “hateful, incendiary comments” that distract the nation from its real problems.
