Young Americans and White men also have low approvals for Biden, at 27% and 29% respectively.

The president’s highest approval ratings are among Americans older than 65 and black Americans, at 45% and 63% respectively. Black Americans are the only demographic in which Biden has a positive approval rating, according to the poll.

Biden has faced heavy criticism for his handling of the ongoing crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border.

BORDER PATROL AGENTS GET INTO HEATED EXCHANGE WITH LEADERSHIP DURING MAYORKAS VISIT, LEAKED VIDEO SHOWS

The poll comes days before the Biden administration plans to end Title 42, a Trump-era COVID-19 rule allowing border officials to speedily deport most migrants. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has acknowledged that ending the rule will only exacerbate the ongoing surge.

The Biden administration has repeatedly argued that the surges at the border are following a year pattern. While the southern border has seen a pattern of increases in migration each spring, the surges in both 2021 and 2022 have far outpaced previous years.

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

The first Russian soldier to face a war crimes trial in Ukraine asked the country for forgiveness after pleading guilty on Thursday.

Vadim Shishimarin, 21, is accused of murder in the death of a 62-year-old unarmed civilian on Feb. 28, just four days after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began. Shishimarin delivered a detailed account of the shooting and the events leading up to it in court on Thursday.

“I know that you will not be able to forgive me, but nevertheless I ask you for forgiveness,” he said.

Shishimarin confessed to firing his AK-47 through the open window of a stolen car, striking Oleksandr Shelypov in the head and killing him.

Shelypov’s widow, Kateryna, traveled roughly five hours to Kyiv to see the trial, according to the Daily Mail.

“He should rot in jail, and spend the rest of his days thinking about what he has done,” she reportedly told the outlet. “I came to see him in person. He looked like a child, but nevertheless he will get his punishment.”

Shishimarin is one of many Russian soldiers who Ukraine expects to prosecute in the coming months. Ukrainian Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova has stated that her office is pursuing cases against 41 Russian soldiers on charges of killing civilians, rape and others, according to the Associated Press.

Shishimarin faces a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.

John Fetterman to resume Pennsylvania lieutenant governor duties after getting pacemaker

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman resumed his duties following a procedure to get a pacemaker implanted, his office announced Wednesday.

Fetterman underwent a three-hour procedure to have a pacemaker implanted on Tuesday following a stroke. He also won the Democratic primary to run for the U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania on Tuesday, just three days after he suffered the stroke.

FETTERMAN CONTINUES TO RECOVER FROM STROKE, TWEETS PHOTO OF FAMILY VISITING HIM IN THE HOSPITAL

Fetterman explained the details of the incident in a lengthy statement on Sunday. He is expected to make a full recovery.

“On Friday, I wasn’t feeling well, so I went to the hospital to get checked out. I didn’t want to go – I didn’t think I had to – but Gisele insisted, and as usual, she was right,” Fetterman wrote in a Sunday statement. “I hadn’t been feeling well, but was so focused on the campaign that I ignored the signs and just kept going. On Friday it finally caught up with me. I had a stroke that was caused by a clot from my heart being in an A-fib rhythm for too long. Fortunately, Gisele spotted the symptoms and got me to the hospital within minutes. The amazing doctors here were able to quickly and completely remove the clot, reversing the stroke, they got my heart under control as well. It’s a good reminder to listen to your body and be aware of the signs.”

“The good news is I’m feeling much better, and the doctors tell me I didn’t suffer any cognitive damage,” he added. “I’m well on my way to a full recovery. So I have a lot to be thankful for. They’re keeping me here for now for observation, but I should be out of here sometime soon. The doctors have assured me that I’ll be able to get back on the trail, but first I need to take a minute, get some rest, and recover. There’s so much at stake in this race, and I’m going to be ready for the hard fight ahead.”.

Ukraine war: Russian soldier pleads guilty to killing unarmed civilian, in first war crimes trial

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

A Russian soldier pled guilty to murder charges Wednesday in Ukraine’s first war crimes trial since Russia’s invasion began.

Vadim Shishimarin, 21, is accused of murder in the death of a 62-year-old unarmed civilian on Feb. 28, just four days after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began. Shishimarin has testified that he only fired at the civilian on orders from a superior. He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.

“I was ordered to shoot,” Shyshimarin said of the incident. “I shot one [round] at him. He falls. And we kept on going.”

Kremlin officials said they had no information about the trial in a Wednesday statement. Ukraine first held preliminary hearings in Shishimarin’s case on Friday.

“We still have no information,” Kremlin spokesman Dimitry Peskov told Agence France Presse. “”And the ability to provide assistance due to the lack of our diplomatic mission there is also very limited.”

President Joe Biden and other world leaders have called for Russian President Vladimir Putin to face a war crimes trial for Russia’s conduct in the invasion.

The accusations reached a boiling point when Russian forces conducted a hasty withdrawal from around Kyiv last month, leaving behind evidence they had slaughtered civilians and forced others to dig mass graves in the town of Bucha.

Ukraine has yet to begin a trial directly related to the Bucha atrocities.

Roe v. Wade ruling has Biden administration bracing for wave of violence: report

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

President Biden’s administration is bracing for a wave of violence from pro-choice activists if the Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade in June, Axios reported Wednesday.

A leaked May 13 memo from the Department of Homeland Security reportedly details ongoing investigations into threats to “burn down or storm” the Supreme Court building, according to Axios. Threats against the court arose last month after a draft majority opinion overturning Roe v. Wade leaked to the press. The Supreme Court is expected to hand down the ruling next month.

SENATE FAILS TO ADVANCE BILL TO GUARANTEE ABORTION ACCESS NATIONWIDE

The court’s conservative justices have already faced targeted protests outside their homes following the leak. The DHS memo reportedly says those protests “are likely to persist and may increase leading up to and following the issuing of the Court’s official ruling.”

The memo goes on to clarify that rhetoric supporting violent extremism does not itself constitute extremism.

“The mere advocacy of political or social positions, political activism, use of strong rhetoric, or generalized philosophic embrace of violent tactics does not constitute domestic violent extremism or illegal activity and is constitutionally protected,” the memo reportedly reads.

The Senate unanimously voted to beef up security for justices following last month’s leak. The legislation allows Supreme Court police to arrest individuals who interfere with the court’s ability to perform its duties, and also creates a criminal penalty for individuals who impede or obstruct those duties.

“Attempts to intimidate Supreme Court Justices by the Radical Left are sadly nothing new, but dangerous nonetheless,” Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, who introduced the legislation, said in a statement at the time. “We must protect the Justices and their families in case these protests do turn violent.”

PRESIDENT BIDEN ‘STRONGLY CONDEMNS’ MOLOTOV COCKTAIL ATTACK ON WISCONSIN ANTI-ABORTION GROUP

The U.S. has already seen examples of pro-choice violence in the wake of the leak, with an unknown assailant throwing a Molotov cocktail through the window of a Wisconsin pro-life group in early May.

DHS Secretary Mayorkas visits US-Mexico border as end of Title 42 looms

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas visited the U.S.-Mexico border again on Tuesday.

Mayorkas traveled to the Rio Grande Valley, visiting several locations border patrol agents say are popular crossing areas for migrants. U.S. Border Patrol chief Raul Ortiz and other border officers spoke with the secretary, and he is expected to hold a press conference later Tuesday afternoon.

The visit comes days before President Biden’s administration plans to end Title 42, a Trump-era COVID-19 rule allowing border officials to speedily deport most migrants.

Mayorkas plans to cut the rule on May 23, but a federal judge in Louisiana may block the Biden administration from doing so.

Arizona, Missouri, Louisiana and others filed a lawsuit to Judge Robert Summerhays of the Western District of Louisiana last month. They argue the Biden administration failed to account for the cost to states if it cancels Title 42.

Border states are already seeing massive migration numbers, and Mayorkas has admitted that ending Title 42 would only exacerbate the situation. Summerhays is expected to hand down a ruling within days.

Mayorkas has acknowledged that ending the rule will result in a sharp spike in immigration. The southern border facing record-setting numbers, and has been for virtually all of Biden’s time in office.

Mayorkas received a cold greeting from border officers during his visit in February, with one agent turning his back on the secretary. Another incident saw Ortiz quelling frustrated agents who boiled over at Mayorkas during a meeting.

INTERNAL CBP DOC WARNS OF ‘SIGNIFICANT SAFETY IMPLICATIONS’ OF TITLE 42 LIFT, CARTEL HOLD ON CENTRAL AMERICA

Ortiz struggled to maintain control as agents accused Mayorkas of “releasing criminal aliens into the country.”

“That’s the problem, chief,” one agent interjected at the time. “For evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. That’s exactly what’s happening here. Good men are doing nothing. You’re allowing illegal aliens to be dropped off in communities.”

Ortiz responded by highlighting the organization’s success in drug-busting efforts, particularly with fentanyl.

“And under this administration, in the last year, we’ve got the highest fentanyl deaths in the history of our country,” another agent countered.

After months of tough talk, Russia now says Finland joining NATO makes ‘not much difference’

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Finland and Sweden joining NATO “makes no big difference,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Tuesday in an apparent reversal of Russia’s previous stance on the issue.

Lavrov and other Russian officials had argued for months that Finland or Sweden joining NATO would post a direct threat to Russia, going to far as to threaten to deploy nuclear weapons on Finland’s border in response. Finland formally requested to join NATO on Sunday, and Sweden is poised to do the same.

UK SHORES UP DEFENSIVE ALLIANCE WITH SWEDEN, FINLAND AS COUNTRIES FLOAT NATO MEMBERSHIP

“Finland and Sweden, as well as other neutral countries, have been participating in NATO military exercises for many years,” Lavrov said Tuesday, according to Reuters.

“NATO takes their territory into account when planning military advances to the East. So in this sense there is probably not much difference. Let’s see how their territory is used in practice in the North Atlantic alliance,” he added.

Lavrov’s statement is a stark shift from Russia’s previous stance on NATO expansion. Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of Russia’s security council, argued in April that such a move would justify Russia deploying nuclear and hypersonic weapons to its Western border with Finland.

“There can be no more talk of any nuclear-free status for the Baltic – the balance must be restored,” he said at the time. “Until today, Russia has not taken such measures and was not going to. If our hand is forced, well … take note it was not us who proposed this.”

Findland’s entry into NATO comes as a direct result of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. Moscow released a statement attempting to ward off Finland’s application last week.

“Finland’s entry into NATO will become a threat to Russia,” Putin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said. “The next expansion of NATO does not make our continent more stable and secure.”

“Of course, all this will become elements for a special analysis and development of the necessary measures in order to balance the situation and ensure our security,” he added.

Arby’s manager admits to urinating into milkshake mix ‘at least twice’

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

An Arby’s night manager in Washington State charged with possession of child pornography admitted to police that he had urinated in the fast food chain’s milkshake mix “at least twice,” police say.

The investigation began when police caught wind of a computer downloading child pornography near the Arby’s in Vancouver, Washington. Police connected the computer with Stephen Sharp, 29, a manager at the Arby’s. Sharp then confessed to downloading and distributing the pornography, according to Fox 35.

Police then obtained a warrant to search Sharp’s devices, where they found a video of him urinating into a container of Arby’s milkshake mix. Sharp reportedly confessed to doing that at least twice.

Court records say the device showed the date on which the video was taken, and another Arby’s manager told police that the restaurant had sold at least one ice cream float and 30-40 milkshakes that day, according to The Columbian.

Teenager shot to death at major Chicago tourist destination

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

A 16-year-old boy was shot to death near the famous “The Bean” sculpture in Chicago’s Millennium Park on Saturday.

Police have taken two suspects into custody in relation to the shooting, but authorities have yet to release names or a motive for the shooting. The boy, Seandell Holliday, was shot at the popular tourist attraction around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, according to police.

CHICAGO CHAOS: WILD VIDEO APPEARS TO SHOW MOB OF TEENS OVERTAKING CITY STREETS

“Earlier this evening, a 16-year-old was tragically killed near Millennium Park. This senseless loss of life is utterly unacceptable,” Democratic Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot said in a statement Saturday evening. “Tonight, a mother is grief-stricken, mourning the loss of her child and searching for answers. My heart is breaking for the mother as she grieves this unspeakable loss.”

Biden administration to remove 5 terror groups from blacklist

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

President Joe Biden’s administration is set to remove five extremist groups from its foreign terrorist blacklist.

Each of the groups is now considered defunct, and Secretary of State Tony Blinken notified Congress of the removals on Friday, according to a copy of the document independently obtained by Fox News Digital.

The groups include Basque Fatherland and Liberty, also known as ETA; Aum Shinrikyo, a Japanese doomsday cult; Kahane Kach, a radical Orthodox Jewish group, as well as two Islamic groups, the Mujahideen Shura Council in the Environs of Jerusalem, and Gama’a al-Islamiyya, according to the notification.

DEMOCRATS BAND TOGETHER TO RAISE CONCERNS WITH IRAN NUKE DEAL REVIVAL: ‘WE CAN’T STAY QUIET’

The removal comes as the Biden administration faces criticism for considering the removal of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) from the blacklist as part of nuclear deal negotiations.

“The Biden administration dragged out briefings about this for months, then went radio silent, then quietly rushed it through hoping no one would notice until it was a done deal,” a senior Republican congressional aide familiar with the notification told Fox Digital of Friday’s move. “Republicans on the Hill believe this was a dress rehearsal for trying to remove terrorism sanctions on the IRGC.”

BIDEN WARNED BY IRANIAN AMERICAN SCIENTISTS, SCHOLARS OVER PERILS OF REMOVING TERROR STATUS

Returning to President Barack Obama’s nuclear deal has been a top foreign policy priority for the Biden administration. There has been little progress on the issue, however, and reports suggested the administration may be considering removing the IRGC from the list.

The IRGC is directly responsible for the killings of roughly 600 U.S. military members and remains an active terror group, according to a group of 46 retired U.S. generals who publicly urged the Biden administration not to remove the group from the blacklist in April.
