Quiet Weather Now, But Multiple Rounds of Rain on the Way

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) -Temperatures started the day near 60 degrees, and the above-average warmth will continue this afternoon. Highs will reach close to 80 degrees under mostly clear skies. Warm and dry weather is expected to persist through the first part of the week, making it an ideal time to get outside and enjoy the sunshine.

For most of the week, temperatures will stay about 10 to 15 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year, with some areas pushing near record highs.

Rain is expected to return toward the end of the week. Several rounds of showers and storms are possible from Friday through Sunday. Even though instability looks limited, severe weather still can’t be completely ruled out. After this system moves through, afternoon temperatures will cool back down into the low 70s and upper 60s.
