Pedestrian hit, killed in Jackson on 4th of July
JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – The Jackson Police Department is investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on the Fourth of July.
At approximately 2:02 a.m., JPD Precinct 4 officers responded to a call on I-55 Frontage Road near Edgewood Terrace Drive about a pedestrian having been hit by a vehicle.
Officers arrived on the scene and saw an unidentified woman.
The victim was unresponsive.
The vehicle involved was not present at the scene when the officers arrived.
Officers found debris that could possibly be connected to the incident.
The Accident Investigator and Mobile Crime Scene Investigator were called to the scene.
The Hinds County Coroner took custody of the victim.
