Pedestrian hit by 18-wheeler in Richland

RICHLAND, Miss. (WLBT) – A pedestrian was injured and is currently in unknown condition after being hit by an 18-wheeler Saturday.

According to Richland Police Department Public Information Officer Allison McDonald, the 18-wheeler was traveling southbound on Highway 49 when it hit the pedestrian.

The pedestrian, who has not been identified at this time, was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for unknown injuries.

McDonald added that it is unknown what led up to the collision and RPD is currently gathering witness statements.
