NCAA denies extension for Trinidad Chambliss, potentially ending quarterback’s career at Ole Miss

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Trinidad Chambliss’ time at Ole Miss may be coming to an end.

This follows a ruling by the NCAA on Friday, where they denied an extension request for the star quarterback.

Ole Miss had filed a waiver request for Chambliss, seeking to extend his five-year Division 1 eligibility clock.

The university cited an incapacitating illness or injury.

On Friday, the NCAA denied that request.

The decision, says the NCAA, aligns with “consistent application of NCAA rules.”

According to ESPN, Ole Miss will appeal the decision.

The university was also given a verbal denial by the NCAA on December 8.

This is a developing story.
