McNair announced as member of 2024 SWAC Hall of Fame class
JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A recent former Alcorn State Braves head football coach has been announced as a member of the 2024 SWAC Hall of Fame class.
The conference released on Wednesday that Fred McNair was included for his accomplishments during his seven-year tenure in Lorman.
McNair coached Alcorn State from 2016-2023, winning four SWAC East Division titles, two SWAC Championships, and one SWAC West Division title.
He was named SWAC Coach of the Year two times and helped lead the Braves to the Celebration Bowl in 2018 and 2019.
The Braves also posted their first 7-0 record at home inside Jack Spinks-Marino Casem Stadium in the program’s history during the 2019 campaign.
The class of 2024 is set to be enshrined on December 13 during a ceremony in Atlanta.
McNair is currently the tight ends coach at Southern University.
