JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A man is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle on Gallatin Street Thursday.

According to Bailey Martin with the Department of Public Safety, Capitol Police officers responded to the intersection of Gallatin and Pascagoula streets at approximately 8:37 p.m.

When they arrived, officers saw a man suffering from several injuries allegedly related to being struck by a vehicle.

The victim was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, according to Martin.

The driver of the vehicle was on the scene and was questioned by officers.

The names of the driver and victim have not been released.

This is an ongoing investigation.
