Man arrested for shooting woman, her 7-year-old grandson in Mississippi
INDIANOLA, Miss. (WLBT) – The U.S. Marshals Service has announced the arrest of a man wanted in connection with a shooting in Indianola, Mississippi.
According to a release, Delvin Jones, 22, who was wanted by the Indianola Police Department, was taken into custody at a house in the 100 block of Jordan Drive on Monday for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon likely to produce death or serious bodily harm. A Glock pistol was recovered during the arrest and was seized as possible evidence of a crime.
On February 12, a 46-year-old woman and her 7-year-old grandson were shot and seriously injured after their car was riddled with bullets on West Percy Street in Indianola.
There was also a 2-year-old in the vehicle who was unharmed.
A week later, an arrest warrant was issued for Jones.
The investigation surrounding the motive of the shooting is still ongoing.
