GLUCKSTADT, Miss. (WLBT) – A man was arrested after he led police on a chase in a stolen vehicle from Georgia early Tuesday morning in Gluckstadt.

According to the Gluckstadt Police Department, the brief pursuit started around 1:45 a.m., ending with the vehicle wrecked near the 109-mile marker on I-55.

The suspect, Nigel Keshune Wilcox, then fled on foot near a Fleetway Service Station in Gluckstadt and, after running into a wooded area behind a Sonic, was located a short time later.

Wilcox was taken into custody without incident and taken to the Madison County Detention Center.

He is now facing charges of felony eluding a police officer, receiving stolen property, and reckless driving.

An initial court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday at Gluckstadt Municipal Court.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Madison Police Department, and Canton Police Department assisted in this case.
