WARREN COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) – A Vicksburg woman will spend the next 12 years behind bars in connection with a 2022 murder.
According to the Vicksburg Daily News, Judge James Chaney sentenced Jennifer Linear, 33, to 40 years in prison, with 12 to serve for the stabbing death of Dale Turpin.
According to police, Linear fatally stabbed Turpin after the two got into an argument at a Motel 6.
Linear was initially charged with first-degree murder, but pleaded guilty to a second-degree charge. The sentence was based on the recommendation of the victim’s family and Assistant District Attorney Branan Southerland, the Daily News reports.
