PEARL, Miss. (WLBT) – Pearl police officers arrested a Morton man for “savagely” beating a female companion.
The incident, which Pearl PD described as horrific, took place at 3:40 a.m. on Sunday, August 4.
A press release says officers responded to a physical disturbance at a home on Shelton Street in Pearl.
Once officers arrived in the area, they found Christopher Curtis Mack, 38, walking down the street away from the home and detained him for questioning.
According to the release, patrol officers then entered the home and found a woman who was “savagely beaten.”
The officers immediately provided emergency medical care until medical services arrived on the scene.
The woman was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries.
Mack was arrested and taken to the Rankin County jail.
He is charged with aggravated domestic violence.
