JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Trial dates have been set for four individuals arrested on drug charges following a recent federal investigation.
Jury trials are scheduled for September 3 for James Naylor, Marcus Naylor, Courtney Parhm, and Aron Brown, four of the eight individuals arrested so far in connection with a multi-year investigation into drug distribution in the state.
Meanwhile, Marcus Naylor made his initial appearance on Monday, where he pleaded not guilty to all charges.
He was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal’s Office until a detention hearing is held on August 12.
Marcus Naylor is charged with conspiracy possession with the intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine, and possession with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of the substance.
Last week, U.S. Attorney Todd Gee announced that nine people were being charged following an operation led by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces.
So far, eight of the nine individuals have been arrested.
Their charges are below:
- James Naylor: conspiracy of being a person with intent to distribute (PWITD) 500 grams of methamphetamine and five kilograms of cocaine; possession with intent to distribute (PWITD) 50 grams or more of meth; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
- Marcus Naylor: conspiracy PWITD 500 grams or more of meth; PWITD 50 grams or more of meth
- Donald Jordan: conspiracy PWITD 5 kilograms or more of cocaine, PWITD cocaine
- Tony Butler: conspiracy PWITD 500 grams or more of cocaine; PWITD cocaine; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
- Courtney Parhm: conspiracy PWITD 50 grams or more of meth; PWITD grams or more of meth
- Charles Guise: conspiracy PWITD 50 grams or more of meth; PWITD 50 grams or more of meth
- Cedrick Barber: conspiracy PWITD 50 grams or more of meth; PWITD 50 grams or more of meth
- Aron Brown: conspiracy PWITD 50 grams or more of meth; PWITD 50 grams or more of meth
- Danita Wheeler: conspiracy PWITD meth and cocaine
