Grandmother arrested after attacking 2 family members with knife on Thanksgiving Day, police say
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A woman is arrested and charged after stabbing two family members, according to the Memphis Police Department.
Lachunda Johnson, 55, was charged with aggravated assault/domestic violence, aggravated assault, and domestic assault.
On November 28, an officer responded to the stabbing on Delta Road.
Officers later arrived at a hospital where they spoke with the victim, who informed them that she and her mother, Johnson, were involved in an argument about the suspect pushing her son.
According to MPD, the victim and Johnson were arguing about various things.
The suspect then charged at the victim with a knife she got from the kitchen.
Officers say that the victim sustained abrasions to her left hand.
The suspect then struck her grandson with the knife in the left hand near his thumb.
MPD also notes that the suspect was drinking and possibly heavily intoxicated at the time of the incident.
Johnson ran away from the scene and she was later found on Cazassa Road and arrested.
There were three juveniles on the scene when the stabbing occurred. All were uninjured, according to police.
