JACKSON, Miss. (WLOX) – Ahead of the winter weather threat set to make its way across Mississippi, Governor Tate Reeves has declared a State of Emergency.

The provisions of the proclamation are in effect from January 19 through January 22, or until the threat to public safety is gone.

According to the state’s Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan, Mississippi agencies will discharge their emergency responsibilities as necessary.
