DPS says they are prepared to assist National Guard in Memphis
JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – The Mississippi Department of Public Safety has announced that they are prepared to assist the National Guard in Memphis.
On Monday, President Trump signed an order sending the National Guard to Memphis.
Bailey Martin, DPS spokeswoman, stated Tuesday that DPS is ready to assist the National Guard.
She stated, “With Memphis’ close proximity to Mississippi and DeSoto County, the Mississippi Department of Public Safety stands ready to assist whenever called upon in efforts to combat crime and keep our state and communities safe.”
