Billy Porter may join ‘Cinderella’ as the Fairy Godmother: report

“Pose” star Billy Porter is in negotiations to join Camila Cabello in Sony’s reimagined musical version of “Cinderella.”

If the deal goes through, Porter will play Cinderella’s fairy godmother. Sony had no comment.

Cabello came on to the project in April with “Blockers” director Kay Cannon attached to helm and pen the script. Cabello will be involved in the music for the project, which grew out of an original idea from James Corden. The film will be produced by Corden and Leo Pearlman through their Fulwell73 banner.

‘MATRIX 4’: YAHYA ABDUL-MATEEN II LANDS LEAD ROLE

The new “Cinderella” will be a music-oriented version of the traditional tale of the orphaned girl with an evil stepmother. Disney’s 1950 animated drama has received two live-action remakes: 1997’s iteration starring Brandy and Whitney Houston and Kenneth Branagh’s 2015 version with Lily James. The latter grossed $543 million worldwide.

HOLLY HUNTER TO PLAY SALLY YATES IN CBS STUDIOS’ JAMES COMEY MINISERIES

Porter won his first Emmy in the lead actor in a drama series last month for his performance as Pray Tell on Ryan Murphy’s “Pose.” His stage credits include “Angels in America” and his Tony Award-winning portrayal of Lola in “Kinky Boots.”

WAYNE BRADY TO RECUR ON ‘BLACK LIGHTNING SEASON 3

Porter will return for the third season of FX’s “Pose” and will also appear next year in Paramount’s comedy “Like a Boss” opposite Tiffany Haddish, Salma Hayek and Rose Byrne. He is repped by CAA and Industry Entertainment.

Jana Kramer says picture of topless woman in husband Mike Caussin’s phone was sent by a bot

Jana Kramer and Mike Caussin are speaking out after revealing that their marriage is in a tough spot due to the country star finding out that an unknown woman sent Caussin a topless photo.

The couple addressed the matter Tuesday in a video interview with “Extra” host Billy Bush, during which Kramer, 35, shared whether she believed her husband was telling the truth that he didn’t know the woman.

“I do believe that because I know it was not an actual person,” Kramer said (via People). “It was a bot, but I still do not believe he was going to tell me about it.”

MIKE CAUSSIN CLARIFIED HIS COMMENT THAT JANA KRAMER CHEATING ON HIM WOULD BE A ‘DEAL BREAKER’

“I totally get why he would delete it and not tell me,” she continued. “I get that thought process 100 percent. It’s just that the toll that the trauma kind of takes, I don’t know how much I’ve got left of that to cry out anymore.”

The couple detailed the story earlier this week during an episode of the “One Tree Hill” alum’s podcast, “Whine Down with Jana Kramer.” Caussin, a recovering sex addict, revealed that he received a topless photo on Oct. 5 from a woman he said he didn’t know. The former NFL player deleted the text, but Kramer found it on his Apple Watch.

During the podcast episode, Kramer initially seemed unclear as to whether or not she believed Caussin, given his history of cheating on her.

JANA KRAMER, MIKE CAUSSIN REVEAL MARRIAGE TROUBLES AFTER SHE FOUND A WOMAN HAD SENT HIM A TOPLESS PHOTO

“I saw it, and … my heart just fell. I was like, it’s here. It’s happened again. I’m such a f—ing idiot … Like, how is this happening again?” she said at the time (via Us Weekly). “I don’t want to live this kind of life. We just moved into this beautiful house, and we had our second kid, and we fought so hard. Why is this happening again?”

Meanwhile, Caussin told Bush: “This has probably been the most difficult thing to date. Everything that we’ve shared, this has probably been the most difficult to swallow.”

“Last night, I couldn’t sleep because I’m tired of feeling like the bad guy and it’s because of my shame,” he admitted.

JANA KRAMER DESCRIBES FINDING OUT ABOUT HUSBAND’S CHEATING RIGHT BEFORE GOING ON STAGE

However, Caussin went on to say that because he and Kramer are so open about their relationship, they are able to potentially help others who might be going through similar issues.

“With the live podcast that Jana and I do, and we take on tour, that is probably the most impactful feedback,” he stated. “When we hear from men [who] say thank you to both of us for opening up to enable them to open up a little more than they would have in the past.”

The couple married in May 2015 and welcomed daughter Jolie in January 2016, only to separate in August of that year after Kramer found out about Caussin’s infidelity. The pair renewed their vows in 2017 and welcomed son Jace in November 2018.

In March, Kramer revealed that Caussin had a relapse in 2018. Although Caussin said at the time that he had not had sex outside his marriage since being caught cheating in 2016, the incident colored her opinion of their current situation.

“Whether he ends up meeting with someone or not … That last relapse, he almost did, and I was going to sign the [divorce] papers,” she explained on her podcast on Monday. “So it’s like, he gets even close to the fire, and I’m gone. I’m like, ‘Does he not know that and realize that and love our family enough?'”

Paula Abdul on Katy Perry’s reported $25M ‘American Idol’ payday: ‘Good for her’

Paula Abdul is sharing her thoughts on Katy Perry‘s shocking “American Idol” salary.

According to a 2018 Wall Street Journal article, Perry, 34, makes $25 million each year for acting as a judge on “American Idol,” which now airs on ABC after 15 years on Fox.

Abdul, 57, who served as a judge from 2002 to 2009, is rumored to have earned between $5 million and $8 million per season.

HOLLYWOOD DIVIDED OVER ELLEN DEGENERES HANGING OUT WITH GEORGE W. BUSH AT A FOOTBALL GAME

On an episode of “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen,” a caller asked Abdul about her thoughts on Perry’s salary.

“Well, good for her, good for her,” said the “Cold Hearted Snake” songstress. “Why not?”

Cohen, 51, praised Abdul for not being bitter about the pay difference.

Abdul expressed similar thoughts in a 2017 interview with “Entertainment Tonight,” adding: “Let’s just put it on the record, I was not getting paid $25 million.”

The ’80s diva also reveals that she’s seen “a couple” episodes of the reboot, which now features Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan as judges alongside Perry.

GEORGE CLOONEY CALLS TRUMP’S STATEMENT ON KURDS ‘PRETTY SHOCKING’

In 2017, on “Cubby and Carolina in the Morning Show,” Perry discussed her excitement over her salary.

“I’m really proud that, as a woman, I got paid,” Perry said on the show. “I got paid more than pretty much any guy that’s been on that show. And by the way, I love men.”

NBC reported in 2008 that Simon Cowell earned $36 million per season.

As far as the rest of the judges, Richie, 70, earns $10 million, host Ryan Seacrest and Bryan, 43, each earn $12 million.

In previous years, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban each got $3.5 million and Jennifer Lopez earned $15 million.

Dolly Parton says she’s been ‘harassed’ and ‘had to put up with a lot of BS’ in career

Dolly Parton talks sexual harassment, feminism and why she avoids politics

Country legend Dolly Parton is clearing the air, making known her views on the #MeToo movement and feminism in general. Parton said she has experienced sexual harassment but most likely not to the extent as other women who have spoken up. The country singer also says that she relates to feminists but is hesitant to label herself one because she never saw herself that way.

Dolly Parton has seen a lot in her time in Hollywood and as an entertainer and businesswoman.

The iconic singer is once again opening up about her experiences with harassment and how she never felt it wise to hold her tongue in situations involving unwanted advances.

AUG. 5 DECLARED DOLLY PARTON DAY IN NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: REPORT

“I’ve been fortunate, more fortunate than most women have,” Parton, 73, told Elle in a November cover interview published on Thursday. “I’ve certainly been harassed in my life. I’ve certainly had to put up with a lot of BS. I was always strong enough to walk away from it and not to have to fall under it.”

“I’ve been fortunate being from a strong family of men, and women, and not being afraid to stand on my own or to say, ‘Go to hell,’ if that’s where you needed to go,” Parton added.

The Grammy-winning artist made it a point to note that she only ever wanted to prove to herself that she could own and operate with the boys’ clubs and said her creation of businesses such as her Dollywood amusement park and production company were to inspire other women – which to Parton is what feminism is about.

“If I’m not a good example of a woman in power, I don’t know who is. I’m out there just promoting mankind, but I am most definitely going to get behind those gals,” she said.

DOLLY PARTON SAYS THESE TWO ACTRESSES COULD PLAY HER IN A MOVIE

Parton told the magazine that her foray into the world of business was quickly rebuffed by folks who were “surprised by her seriousness as a businesswoman” due to her eclectic appearance and vibrant getups.

“I never felt that I had to cower or to feel like, because I was a girl, I had to do it any different,” she said. “I just believed in myself. Still do. I never thought of it [as being] about being a woman or a man. I thought of it as being an artist, and a writer, and a person of a strong will.

“I not only didn’t tone it down, I figured if my work was truly good enough, people would eventually recognize that,” Parton added. “It was about me knowing who I was, being happy with me, and feeling comfortable in the way I presented myself. If I was happy, I could make other people happy.”

The “9 to5” songstress and eventual actress in the film of the same name, said the 1980 movie in which she starred alongside Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin did wonders for shedding light on the inequalities women faced on a regular basis. Parton said the film warranted a larger impact, but credited the project for opening people’s eyes to the issues discussed.

“I think that brought so much stuff to the forefront that people had not been willing to look at, even though they knew it was happening,” said Parton of the satirical flick. “At that time, we really hoped that it would make a bigger difference than it actually did. Although I do feel like it did open a lot of doors and a lot of eyes to a lot of problems that we’d been having since time began.”

The actresses had a reunion of sorts at the 2017 Emmy awards. Parton also starred in “Steel Magnolias” in 1989.

Still, the “Jolene” crooner believes there is much work to be done within the #MeToo movement and has faith that the current crop of women at the forefront of change will continue to fight while ushering in a new group of young girls and women who also want to put their hats into the ring to combat the concerns that persist.

“We still have a lot of the same problems. I think that we just have to keep working at it,” said Parton. “I think the new #MeToo movement and all that stuff has thrown more light onto it. I think women are in a better place now than they’ve ever been before.”

George Clooney calls Trump’s statement on Kurds ‘pretty shocking’

HELSINKI (AP) – George Clooney says he was appalled U.S. President Donald Trump partly justified the decision to withdraw U.S. troops from Syria by stating Kurds “didn’t help us with Normandy” during World War II.

The politically active Hollywood actor, director and producer told a business seminar in Finland’s capital on Thursday that he found Trump’s words from a day earlier “a pretty shocking statement.”

Hollywood divided over Ellen DeGeneres hanging out with George W. Bush at a football game

Ellen DeGeneres has found herself at the center of a raging controversy.

After being photographed at a Dallas Cowboys football game with former President George W. Bush this past weekend, DeGeneres, 61, took heat on Twitter for spending time with someone at the opposite end of the political spectrum.

She followed up with a statement on her show saying: “I’m friends with George Bush. In fact, I’m friends with a lot of people who don’t share the same beliefs that I have. We’re all different and I think that we’ve forgotten that that’s okay that we’re all different … but just because I don’t agree with someone on everything doesn’t mean that I’m not going to be friends with them.”

ACTRESS DREW BARRYMORE TO HOST DAYTIME TALK SHOW

Since then, several celebrities and public figures have voiced their opinions about the issue, and those perspectives are mixed.

Actress Reese Witherspoon voiced her support for DeGeneres in a since-deleted tweet, thanking DeGeneres for her “important reminder.”

Kristen Bell, star of NBC’s “The Good Place,” shared a side-by-side photo of DeGeneres and Bush, 73, with the caption: “She’s my 👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑”

Both posts drew largely negative responses from commenters, some calling for the posts to be deleted, saying that the actresses were “privileged” and calling Bush harmful to the Middle East and the LGBTQ community.

Meanwhile, Bell’s husband, Dax Shepard, responded to Ellen’s tweet with “PREACH!”

Country singers Blake Shelton, John Rich and Kelsea Ballerini also voiced their support.

Shelton tweeted: “Amen @TheEllenShow… Thank you for saying this,” while Rich sarcastically thanked Hollywood for telling people who they “can/can’t be friends with.”

Ballerini retweeted DeGeneres’ rebuttal with “watch this,” followed by a heart emoji.

Other celebrities who expressed support for DeGeneres included Oscar winner Jaime Foxx, actress Jennifer Garner, Gwen Stefani, Scooter Braun, Piers Morgan and “Jersey Shore” co-star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi.

The controversy also came up during Thursday’s episode of “The View,” and co-host Abby Huntsman said when she saw the video, “I didn’t spend my Saturday tweeting out …we should be spending that time with our children, with our family or, heaven forbid, friends that might think differently than we do…”

ED SHEERAN, PRINCE HARRY PROMOTE WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY WITH COMEDIC VIDEO

Huntsman’s co-host Joy Behar fired back, saying: “I don’t agree with that 100 percent. … I always said I didn’t want to get to know George W. Bush because I knew I would like him. I knew I would because he seems like a likable kind of guy. But if you lost a child in Iraq then you don’t like him so much. And I don’t see myself hanging out with Donald Trump anytime in this lifetime.”

Sunny Hostin agreed with Behar, Meghan McCain said she fell “somewhere in the middle” and Whoopi Goldberg voiced support for DeGeneres “taking a second to show someone humanity.”

Among the celebrities who voiced concern about DeGeneres’ actions was actor David Cross, who called DeGeneres’ defense “weak, self-serving, [sic] dismissive and eye-opening.”

Oscar-winner Susan Sarandon quoted Out Magazine’s response to the controversy with “But missing the point entirely, DeGeneres framed the issue as simply a matter of her hanging out with someone with different opinions, not a man repeatedly accused of being a war criminal.”

After spending time researching Bush’s presidency, Bell’s “Good Place” co-star Jameela Jamil tweeted: “What a monstrous leader. I now understand the rage.”

Marvel star Mark Ruffalo said that talking about Bush’s kindness should be out of the question until he is “brought to justice for the crimes of the Iraq War.”

On Tuesday, a spokesperson for Bush told Fox News: “President and Mrs. Bush really enjoyed being with Ellen and Portia (de Rossi) and appreciated Ellen’s comments about respecting one another. They respect her.”

Ed Sheeran, Prince Harry promote World Mental Health Day with comedic video

Singer Ed Sheeran and Prince Harry have joined forces to bring awareness to World Mental Health Day.

The one minute and 40-second video, posted to Instagram Thursday morning, features Sheeran, 28, excitedly preparing for his meeting with Harry, 35.

In the video, the duo sits down to discuss creating a video about a cause Harry is “quite passionate about.” It appears, however, that the two aren’t on the same page.

“I’ve been trying to write a song about this,” Sheeran says.

“Someone with a skill set, to be able to write lyrics of a song to raise awareness, I think would be amazing,” Harry responded.

“Yeah, that’s exactly what I’m trying to do,” Sheeran said. “People just don’t understand what it’s like for people like us.”

The comment gave Harry pause, so Sheeran explained, “The jokes and snide comments, I feel like it’s time we stood up and said ‘we’re not going to take this anymore, we’re gingers and we’re going to fight.'”

The Duke of Sussex then explains that the song wouldn’t be for the empowerment of redheads, but for World Mental Health Day.

The video was in jest, but at the end, the team took a moment to ask viewers to reach out to anyone that might be suffering.

Barrymore, who was nominated for an Emmy for her performance in “Grey Gardens,” recently wrapped the third and final season of “Santa Clarita Diet” for Netflix. Oprah Winfrey on never marrying or having children: ‘I have not had one regret about that’

Oprah Winfrey is talking about some of her biggest life choices: not marrying, and not having children.

Winfrey, 65, met her longtime partner, Stedman Graham, at a charity event in 1986, and after the couple became engaged, Winfrey considered having children, she told People magazine. She even once bought an extra apartment, should she need the space.

However, the longtime talk show host, whose platform let her see “the depth of responsibility and sacrifice” it takes to be a mother, soon changed her tune.

MEGHAN MARKLE, PRINCE HARRY CONSIDERING MOVING TO CANADA: SOURCE

“I realized, ‘Whoa, I’m talking to a lot of messed-up people, and they are messed up because they had mothers and fathers who were not aware of how serious that job is,’” said the media mogul, who has also produced and acted to great acclaim over the years. “I don’t have the ability to compartmentalize the way I see other women do. It is why, throughout my years, I have had the highest regard for women who choose to be at home [with] their kids, because I don’t know how you do that all day long. Nobody gives women the credit they deserve.”

Winfrey also noted that her 17-hour days held her back, and that her dogs and Graham allowed her to be herself.

The “Color Purple” and “A Wrinkle in Time” star did note, however, that a marriage with Graham would have been rocky.

“Both he and I now say, ‘If we had married, we would not be together,’” she said. “No question about it — we would not stay married, because of what that would have meant to him, and I would have had my own ideas about it.”

Although some may consider them unconventional, Winfrey stands by both of her decisions.

“I have not had one regret about [not having kids or getting married]. I also believe that part of the reason why I don’t have regrets is because I got to fulfill it in the way that was best for me: the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa,” she said. “Those girls fill that maternal fold that I perhaps would have had. In fact, they overfill — I’m overflowed with maternal.”
