JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Authorities are investigating a homicide after a body was found in a burned car in Jackson Friday morning.

The Jackson Fire Department initially responded to the scene around 10:30 a.m. at Glen Erin Drive.

The Jackson Police Department was then called to assist in the investigation.

After JPD officers arrived at the scene, a body was found in the burned car. The identity of the person has not been revealed.

Investigators are still trying to piece together exactly what happened.

No suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made at this time.
