A soggy spell begins
JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) –Today: Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will return by this afternoon, with the highest rain coverage expected along and south of the I-20 corridor. Rain chances will continue into Friday night and Saturday as a low-pressure system moves through the area.
Pepsi Pops & Mud Monsters Game Forecast: Expect storms to develop throughout the day. If you’re heading to these outdoor events, be sure to bring rain gear and stay weather-aware.
Mother’s Day Weekend: Both Saturday and Sunday will feature periods of on-and-off rain, but it won’t be a total washout. There will be some dry intervals, especially during the day, so outdoor plans may still be possible with a little flexibility. Keep an umbrella or rain jacket handy. Highs will stay comfortably in the 70s.
Extended Forecast: If the surface low shifts farther west Sunday morning, we may catch a break in the rain. However, scattered showers are still likely by Sunday afternoon and could persist into Monday morning. Drier weather returns Tuesday, along with a warm-up—expect highs climbing into the mid- to upper 80s, possibly nearing 90°F.
