JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) -Hello everyone! This week, we’re in for a nice warm-up as we continue cleaning up from the weekend’s storms.

The day will start off a bit chilly, with temperatures in the 40s, but we’ll warm up into the 70s across central Mississippi with mostly clear skies. Throughout the week, highs will generally stay in the 70s and 80s. A weak front will push through on Wednesday, bringing a slight chance of rain, and after that, temperatures will dip into the 60s for highs and 30s for lows.

Friday morning could bring some patchy frost, with lows dropping into the low 30s. Overall, it looks like a pleasant week ahead, with little to worry about. So, enjoy the beautiful weather while it lasts into this weekend, we’re tracking our next round of storms. There’s already a Level 2/5 Slight Risk for areas north of and along I-20, with strong storms expected Sunday into Monday.

As for the storms this past Saturday, we’ve received a few preliminary reports on the tornado path, but many areas still need to be assessed. The NWS is working to visit more locations, so stay tuned for updates.

We’ll keep you posted on the weather throughout the week!
