6 killed, suspect in custody in Mississippi
WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA) – Six people were killed during an incident in Clay County, Mississippi, on Friday night, according to WTVA News.
Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott confirmed the number of deaths with NBC News on Saturday morning, and said this involved three different shooting locations.
Scott said a suspect is in custody.
“Unfortunately, we have dealt with tragedy in our community. Multiple innocent lives lost due to violence. We do have the individual in custody and no longer poses a threat to our community. I ask that you lift our victims and their families in your prayers. Law Enforcement is busy investigating and will release an update as soon as possible,” Sheriff Scott said.
No other information was released.
More details are expected to be released on Saturday.
