18-wheeler hauling multiple vehicles catches fire in Rankin County

RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) – An 18-wheeler hauling six vehicles caught fire early Monday morning.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. on Interstate 20 westbound near mile marker 73 and the Rankin-Scott County line.

WLBT News was told that the driver of the 18-wheeler noticed one of his tires was on fire.

Firefighters in Pelahatchie were called to the scene to extinguish the blaze.

Multiple cars appeared to have received damage as a result of the tire fire.

No injuries were reported.

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office was also at the scene.
